นวนิยายที่ได้รับรางวัลวรรณกรรมสร้างสรรค์ยอดเยี่ยมแห่งอาเซียน (ซีไรต์) ในปี พ.ศ. 2528 เป็นวรรณกรรมริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ เกี่ยวกับความรักหนุ่มสาวที่มีปัญหาครอบครัวบ้านเเตกสาเเหรกขาด ซึ่งสะท้อนความเข้าใจของชีวิต ชี้ให้เห็นคุณค่าความเป็นมนุษย์ในหน้าที่ของพ่อเเม่ ทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจกัน และยังเสนอแนวคิดอันเป็นประโยชน์สร้างสรรค์ให้กับชีวิตครอบครัวได้เป็นอย่างดี โดยผ่านสองตัวละครเอกในเรื่องได้แก่ สองเมือง และ บาลี ทั้งคู่เกิดมาในครอบครัวที่พ่อแม่หย่าร้าง เมื่อโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่ บาลีศึกษาปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในวัยเด็ก และชักจูงให้สองเมืองลืมความข่มขื่นใจที่เคยเกิดขึ้น ทำให้สองเมืองรักบาลี และมั่นใจว่าชีวิตคู่ของเขาและเธอจะไม่เป็นอย่างพ่อกับแม่ และจะเป็นพ่อแม่ที่เป็นตัวอย่างที่ดี ไม่ใช่เป็นเพียงรูปหล่อปูนที่ปิดด้วยทอง ซึ่งไม่มีค่าอะไร “Poon Pid Thong or Gold-Pasted Cement” one of KrisnaAsokesin’s novels won the prestigious Southeast Asian or S.E.A Write award in 1985. She then questions whether imitation statues made of cement and pasted with gold leaf to fool people should be venerated in the same way as the real statues of Buddha.
